Terms of Use

Last updated: October 17, 2026

1. Welcome

Spinlog is a place for collectors to catalog their vinyl records, LPs, CDs and cassettes, keep a wishlist, and share collections with friends. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Spinlog is a personal, non-commercial project run by James Doro, an individual based in Lebanon, who is responsible for your data. You can reach us at contact@spinlog.org, with or without an account, or through the Contact page when you're logged in.

2. Your account

You must provide a valid email address and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account. Choose a username that doesn't impersonate someone else or contain offensive language.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the service.

3. Your content

You own the information you add: record details, comments, photos, your bio and any other content. You give us permission to store it and to show it to the people you've chosen, which means your accepted friends. If you switch on a public profile, anyone with its link can also see your photo, name, bio, statistics, records, covers and wishlist. Prices, shops, purchase dates and your private notes are never shown publicly, and are hidden from friends unless you turn on sharing in your profile settings.

Only upload photos you have the right to share. Don't post anything unlawful, abusive, misleading or that infringes someone else's rights.

Album covers shown in the app come from the Cover Art Archive or are uploaded by users, and belong to their respective rights holders. They are shown only to help you identify your records. If you believe something on Spinlog infringes your copyright or is otherwise unlawful, contact us with a link to it and an explanation, and we'll review it promptly and remove it where appropriate.

4. Friends

Only accepted friends can see your collection, unless you switch on a public profile. You can remove a friend at any time, which ends their access, and you can switch your public profile off at any time. Please don't send repeated unwanted friend requests.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • try to access other people's accounts or data without permission,
  • interfere with or overload the service, or try to bypass its security,
  • scrape the service or use automated tools to collect data from it,
  • use the service for spam, fraud or any unlawful purpose.

We may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules or harm other users.

6. No guarantees

Spinlog is provided “as is”, and it is still in early development. We do our best to keep it running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Keep your own backup of anything you can't afford to lose.

Any values, statistics or “levels” shown in the app are for fun and information, not valuations or financial advice. Release details and cover images suggested by the app come from third-party databases and may be inaccurate, so check them against your own copy.

7. The Crate Guide

The Crate Guide is a list of record shops, flea markets and collectors chosen by the administrators of Spinlog. It is provided for information only. We can't promise that addresses, opening hours, prices or what a place sells are accurate or up to date, so check before you travel. We are not affiliated with the places listed, and we aren't responsible for what happens when you visit them or meet people through the guide. Meeting a private collector is at your own risk.

The “Open in Google Maps” buttons are plain links to Google Maps. Anything you do on Google's website is covered by Google's own terms and privacy policy.

8. Liability and applicable law

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for loss of data or collection value arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that can't be excluded.

These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon. If you live elsewhere, you keep any protections the law of your country gives you that can't be waived by agreement.

9. Ending your account

You can stop using the service at any time. You can delete your account yourself from your profile (Edit profile, then Delete account). Deleting it permanently erases your profile, collection, wishlist, photos, friendships, comments, likes and messages, and cannot be undone. We may also close accounts that break these terms.

10. Changes

We may update these terms as the service grows. When we make important changes we'll update the date above, and continuing to use the service means you accept the new version.
